Welcome and well met! My name is Robert and I play, teach, and compose for the koto - a traditional Japanese stringed instrument.

I moved to Yokohama, Japan, five years ago to study for my jun shihan teaching license, which I received last year from the Seiha school of koto along with my artist name, Gakushi.

I offer one-to-one koto lessons, both online and in-person. Koto rentals can be arranged. Please check the F.A.Q. for details.
